According to her, the dog was dropped off with PetSmart in Dickson City for grooming; only for her to hear shortly thereafter that the pet was dead.
In the wake of the attack on the dog, Brewster, in PetSmart, he was rushed to the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center located in South Abington. Sadly, he was declared dead on arrival. The pet owner, who is from Scranton, explained that the 12-year old bichon dog was loving and gentle, and loved everybody. She went further by stating that she was unhappy with the manner PetSmart handled the problem and thought better safety protocols could have been provided to curb such attacks. None of her calls to the grooming firm was answered, Miller says, which further got her infuriated.
Brewster lost his life as a result of sheer carelessness by PetSmart corporate — who would take a pit bull past a dog of small size that would only serve as bait? Miller, haunted by her last memories of the dog, felt so guilty about the whole incident.
